The Last Day of Summer

Walking with a Smacked Pentax

The autumn equinox starts around 23rd of September, and this was the date this photo was taken.

The heather is losing it’s vibrant purple coat and is turning rustic brown, and the bracken is slowly dying. There is a chill in the air from the North, and the mornings are getting misty. I do love autumn, not just as a photographer but as a person. It is a lovely season, but it always has a hint of sadness about it for some reason.

Soon the moors will be wearing a winter coat, but for now it is enough to sit quietly and enjoy the view.
